It seems like Tivoli is bubbling again as part of the IBM SWG family. Certainly the company seems happier than it has in a long time, more sure of its place in the IBM ecosystem. During a transitional phase over the last couple of years as Tivoli, IBM, and the IT industry changed, a new breed of systems management software startups made hay in Tivoli's backyard, successfully selling into IBM customers with more lightweight management approaches and a deeper knowledge of disciplines such as Java performance management. But Tivoli is ready to strike back. P&A will lead the charge.
