David Freund
Analyst and IT Advisor

David Freund has more than two decades of experience in the development and deployment of information technology. He has given presentations to groups large and small on the technologies, trends and strategies critical to deploying enterprise platforms and applications. His areas of expertise include storage and systems architecture, data protection, clustering, operating systems, systems software, middleware, and systems management. Prior to joining Illuminata, David directed product development and product management for Winchester Systems, Inc. and FORTEL, Inc., was a strategic and technical advisor to a multinational server manufacturer, and held senior engineering and management positions, developing operating system, clustering, and enterprise management products.

David's insight cuts through the hype to explain how emerging trends in IT bridge the gap between what businesses need and what technology can do.

Gordon Haff
Senior Analyst & IT Advisor

Gordon Haff has more than 15 years of experience researching and using enterprise servers and workstations, their operating systems, architectures, processors, physical packaging, and support services. He focuses on Computing Foundation and Infrastructure Management issues with a special emphasis on enterprise servers, data-center interconnects, server blades and appliances, 64-bit computing, and new computational models. As a product-marketing manager at Data General, Gordon helped launch several products and server architectures, including NUMA servers running Unix, and high-density servers running Windows. Most recently, he was Research Director for High-End Architectures at the Aberdeen Group.

As a speaker, Gordon explains complex technological concepts in a user-friendly way that relies more on practical experience than jargon. He brings his audiences a strong body of knowledge about emerging Computing Foundations, their integration with existing systems, and their effect on the enterprise.
